Rebel Admiral

Admiral Manning was the commander of the Sophronius Space Navy. The squadron consisted of five ships: Yorktown, Normandy, Straits of Hormuz, Hue City, and Chickamauga. At the beginning of the rebellion, Braydon Swanson ordered Manning to attack rebel positions from orbit. Manning refused.

 

However, the captains of Normandy, Hue City, and Yorktown continued to follow orders from the governor. It is believed that the captains of these ships were offered positions, money, or both.

 

Manning, on board Chickamauga, then moved in concert with Straits of Hormuz to stop her former colleagues and the only space battle of the rebellion began. This resulted in Normandy and Straits of Hormuz being destroyed. Manning, in no position to finish off the damaged Yorktown and Hue City retreated with her ship to Ararat.
