The Foreign Nobility Computer Company was founded in 2271 by Jillian Lucas, an entrepreneur in the field of holographic imaging. Stance originally founded the company on Wellington (Clement, Hub 0406), but within a few years had moved operations to the new colony of Sigyn (Clement, Franklin 0408). In 2327 the company again shifted locations, this time to Bastiat (Clement, Franklin 0807) where the headquarters is located today.

 

The company specializes in the creation of realistic holographic interfaces. Their most popular product is the FN Mark IV interface, which integrates with a ships computer systems and provides a comprehensive control interface. Most crews find working with the interactive interface to be like having an additional member of the crew. On passenger vessels, these interfaces are frequently used to assist passengers.

 

Other products include training simulators for the military and law enforcement, holomasking for actors attempting a new look, and holographic instructors for children. These products have been widely available for many years now and the company continues to improve upon them.

 

Pilar Stance, the current president of the company, is 103 years old. She is widely regarded as a calm, steady corporate leader.  She lives in a spacious mansion outside the city of Bayonne on Bastiat.
