Tragic Titan of Industry

 

Founder of Lancaster Shipping and the CCA (CCA).  James voluntarily ended his life in at the age of 145.

 

His fleet began scouting out Clement Sector’s new worlds to trailing of Hub Subsector for potential colonies. One of the first would be the colony which would come to be known as Cascadia, the grateful colonists naming their new home after the company which brought them there.

 

Lancaster Shipping and the CCA assisted in placing colonies throughout what would come to be known as Cascadia Subsector. James played a major role in planting worlds such as Monroe, Fairfax, Nyahururu, Megara, Chance, Dimme, and Gagnon as well as having a hand in placing others as well. There is no existing settled world in Cascadia Subsector that was not assisted by Lancaster Shipping in some way, form or fashion.

 

When he retired, he was the wealthiest person in the entire sector.  He sold the ships from his fleet to anyone who could come up with the credits. Several companies got their start this way, including Diamond Enterprises and the Blue Star Line.

 

He also sold (for 1 credit each) scout ships and colony ships to the CCA, which evolved into a division of the Cascadian government.  Finally, he donated the 90% of his wealth to the CCA upon his death.
